Seed Library
The Gympie Regional Libraries Seed Library aims to grow community interest in gardening as well as empower our members with the knowledge on how to grow their own food and create their own sustainable gardens. The Seed Library is free and open to anyone with a library membership. Simply select one seed packet for every five books you borrow. Similar to your usual library borrowing experience, a seed library allows our community to “borrow” seeds from the library to grow and enjoy at home.
Seed packets can be found at all Gympie Regional Libraries branches during opening hours.
Take your new seeds home to grow by following the information on each packet. Gympie Regional Libraries also has a variety of gardening books and magazines available to assist you in creating your very own sustainable garden!
As part of our sustainability program, Gympie Regional Libraries host a series of educational workshops and talks to inspire, educate and grow social connections among those interested in gardening, food, and learning more about how to be sustainable in our day to day lives. Find out more about the programs here.
