Book clubs
Book Clubs flourish throughout the Gympie Region, with more than 25 active reading groups currently accessing the multiple book-set collections of Gympie Regional Libraries. If you’re an avid reader and would like to discuss the work of great authors with other book lovers, contact your nearest library branch today.
Books for Cooks at Kilkivan Library
Every Second Thursday at 10am
Have a recipe you want to share? Need some new ideas on what to cook? Join us at the Kilkivan Library each month to explore different types of foods from a range of different cook books. Choose a recipe from the type of food being cooked and bring along a plate to share. Need a cook book to find a recipe? We have plenty at the Kilkivan Library to choose from. Food and drink may be consumed at the Books for Cooks event if the food or drink does not have to be maintained at a certain temperature. Kitchen facilities or equipment are not provided by the library.

Each month our BYOB (that’s Bring Your Own Book) Club meets to discuss what they have been reading. Enjoy a chat and meet others who love to read.
Cooloola Card Makers

Our friendly and informal group meets at the Gympie Library on Thursdays 5-6pm (except during school holidays). Come along to make new friends and improve your English. Learners of all levels are welcome.

Come and share your current project with our Gympie Library Craft Group. Bring along a piece you’re working on - be it knitting, sewing, crochet or cross stitch - and share ideas and learn with other craft-minded people. First and Third Thursday of each month
If you need a little help with your laptop or device, the Gympie Seniors Computing Group will be at the Gympie Library providing assistance on the first and third Thursday of every month from 10am to 12noon.
Mahjong Mornings at Goomeri
Every Tuesday at 10am
Join us at Goomeri Library for a chat, a cuppa and a wonderful morning playing Mahjong. Mahjong is an ancient Chinese tile game of strategy, calculation and skill with a measure of chance. This group is open to everyone, young and old, wanting to learn this ancient Chinese tile game.
