Home Library Service
Our home library service volunteers help people who can’t visit the library. This might be because they are older, frail, or have a disability.
This service has been going for over 50 years. Volunteers choose library materials for our home library service members.

Local History
Gympie Regional Library has a large local history collection. We research history as well as answer questions online, by phone, and in person.
Volunteers help by:
- sorting and storing photographs
- typing up history information
- researching information
- helping with projects.

Makerspace
Makerspaces encourage play, creativity, and hands-on learning. It is also a place where people share their skills and knowledge.
The Makerspace has:
- Virtual reality hardware and software
- 3D printers
- Robotics
- Sewing machines.
Volunteers help with the equipment. You can also help users, get the room ready for use, or clean up afterward.

Library Programs and Events
Our libraries have many free events and activities for all ages and abilities. These include:
- Author talks
- Gardening and sustainability workshops
- Music and poetry events
- Storytelling for children
- School holiday programs.
Our volunteers help us by:

- Greeting guests
- Helping with projects.
