Under 5's

Reading aloud and sharing stories with your child is a great way to spend time together. Here are some programs to try.

First 5 Forever

First 5 Forever is a Queensland Government initiative that supports children’s learning, development and wellbeing from birth to five years. Delivered through local libraries, the program encourages parents and carers to play, talk, read and sing with their children every day.

Through free, fun and inclusive activities such as Storytimes, Toddler Times, Baby Rhyme Times and parent resources, First 5 Forever helps build strong early literacy skills, confidence and a love of learning—giving every child the best possible start in life.

This is done through singing, rhymes, stories, and craft. These free sessions are suitable for babies and preschool children.

Visit First 5 Forever for more information, tips and advice.
