What's a Makerspace?

Our Makerspace is a place where people can come together to learn and use different materials and machines to develop creative projects. It fosters hands-on play, exploration, and collaborative learning, to share skills and knowledge that encourage a culture of creation.

From prototypes to custom designs, transform your vision into reality using our Prusa Mk4, MK3.9, and mini+ 3D printers. PLA filament is provided at no cost for print times under 3 hours. If you would like to print something bigger, chat to our staff. Need to mend something or want to make something from scratch? Start stitching today with our Janome DC2050 Sewing Machines, Janome ML644D Overlocker, and Janome MC500E Embroidery Machine. Our Cricut Maker and Easy Press, are a crafter’s dream. You can make stickers, cards, customise T-shirts, and more, using materials like vinyl, cloth, thin plastic, and balsawood.

 


Opening Hours

The Makerspace is open to all residents on:

  • Tuesday 9am-12noon and 2pm-5pm
  • Wednesday 9am-12noon and 2pm-5pm
  • Thursday 9am-12noon

School Holiday Hours:

  • Monday 9am-12noon
  • Tuesday 9am-12noon, 2-5pm
  • Wednesday 9am-12noon, 2-5pm
  • Thursday 9am-12noon

Staff will be available during opening hours to answer questions and assist you in getting started with your projects. 

Makerspace Activities

Specialised Makerspace activities also run throughout the year. These sessions include Equipment Introduction activities, Robot Afternoons, Kids Learn to Sew and school holiday activities.
