Friends of the Library

Friends of the Gympie Regional Libraries support the libraries with advocacy and fund raising. Over the years their efforts have seen a range of useful things added to libraries such as digital cameras, iPads, Summer reading prizes, furniture and so much more.

Join the Friends of Gympie Regional Libraries and support the great work we do

Some of our achievements to date:

  • Funding to support the Gympie Library Makerspace
  • Supporting the libraries’ annual public programmes
  • Funding specialised furniture and equipment at community libraries
  • Volunteering at the libraries’ annual book sale
  • Come and join us. It's all about making friends, having fun and supporting library services in our community.

How to join

View the flyer, and either send the completed application to library@gympie.qld.gov.au or drop in to your nearest library branch.

  • A regular newsletter with information of coming events, library services, book notes and other interesting material.

Membership Application and Fees

Membership fees: $5.00 per year

 

Volunteers

We are grateful for the work our volunteers do for the libraries and the community.

As a Library Volunteer you can:

  • Meet new and interesting people, from diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Support lifelong learning opportunities in your community
  • Use your skills to advance access to knowledge, experience and ideas
  • Play a part in enhancing the experiences of, and services to, our communities

How to volunteer

Your Library relies on the valuable support of all its volunteers. To become a library volunteer you will first need to fill out the below application form and return it to Gympie Regional Libraries either by dropping it in to one of the branches or sending it to library@gympie.qld.gov.au

Unfortunately, there are no positions available at present.

You can visit our council website for volunteer programs in the local area.

When available, all library volunteer opportunities will be advertised via our library newsletter and website.
